Q: What do you do for McCaffrey Homes?
A: I’m a manager (and the biggest fan) for our sales, design,
marketing, and mortgage teams, which are either in the corporate office
or on-site in our neighborhoods. I am a board member and intimately
involved in everything from neighborhood and floor plan design to the
close of escrow on every new home.
Q: How long have you been with McCaffrey Homes?
A: 25 years
Q: What is your background and experience in the industry?
A: I started in the mortgage business in my early 20’s. I have
enjoyed learning along the way while holding various positions from Loan
Funder, Processor, Branch Manager, Escrow Coordinator, New Home Sales
Associate to VP of Sales. I believe that to effectively manage, train,
and support your team, it is helpful to have previously held the
positions yourself. I have been licensed by The Department of Real
Estate since 1994 and hold a California Real Estate Broker license.
Q: What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment so far with McCaffrey Homes?
A: Tesoro Viejo, a master-planned community that is unlike any other
in the Central Valley, and the McCaffrey Homes collection of homes
offered there. Watching the community come to life and providing a
variety of homes so different generations can live together in one
neighborhood is everything we envisioned. Being a member of the team to
make it all happen is an amazing feeling!
Q: How many McCaffrey Homes have you lived in?
A: Three! I grew up in a home built by Karen McCaffrey’s dad, John
Bonadelle. I then bought my first McCaffrey Home in Northwest Fresno in
the early 90’s. We currently live in McCaffrey’s first custom home
development, Bellaviera, in a custom home built by McCaffrey Homes.
Q: What does your day-to-day look like at work?
A: My day-to-day consists of emails, phone calls, texts, meetings,
driving the neighborhoods and community, walking homes under
construction, planning, solving, creating, and inspiring! It’s a little
bit of everything and each day is different.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
A: I love working with a team that loves what they do. When you
surround yourself with passionate people, the biggest challenges aren’t
so bad and the good days are that much better.
Q: What do you find most rewarding about your role?
A: I find the most rewarding part of my role is working with
architects and land planners to assist with the design of new
neighborhoods and new home floor plans. Within these plans, I know that
people will enjoy their homes, raise families, and start new chapters in
life. It’s why I am so passionate about this business!
Q: What do you like to do for fun outside of work?
A: Outside of work, my fun seems to change on a yearly, monthly, and
even daily basis. As life changes and our kids grow up, hobbies, travel
destinations, and our down time looks different. Typical everyday
moments can be fun when you are laughing and have good people around you
to share it with.
Q: Family? Pets? Feel free to list names/members of immediate family if you feel comfortable with sharing.
A: I’m a Fresno native. My husband Steve and I have been married 31
years. He is an executive chef and I don’t know a thing about cooking!
We have 2 beautiful daughters, Breelynn and Payton and we have two
English Bulldogs, Newton and Twix.
