The Tuscan Castle model home is a single story home that ranges from 1,700 to 1,940 square feet with a rotunda entry that features three to four bedrooms and split three car garages.

Started in 1982, The Nationals recognizes excellence in new home design, merchandising and marketing. Winners are selected by a nation wide panel of eight industry professionals from a field of over 800 entries. It’s represented by a wide range of disciplines and geographic cross section and is renowned for its integrity.
Peter Mayer, judging chairman for the Nationals, said, "The Nationals’ judging team was very impressed by this home and felt it was a perfect example of how a builder and design team did it RIGHT," said "Developing a modestly priced home to appeal to the broadest possible market, while not forsaking the beauty of the plan is a difficult task, but McCaffrey Homes and its design team have done just that."
"To be recognized at the national level with a Gold award for architecture is a great honor," said Lauren McCaffrey Knowlton, vice president of marketing for McCaffrey Homes. "It is a tribute to the talented and hard working team at McCaffrey Homes, which constantly strives to create homes and communities of the highest level for families here in the Central San Joaquin Valley. We are humbled and deeply grateful that these efforts have been recognized by our colleagues and peers, and sincerely thank our design team who contribute so much to the quality of our new home neighborhoods."
This is the second consecutive year that the local home builder has been honored with a National Gold award for the Tuscan Castle design having received in 2008 the award for "Best Interior Merchandising of a Model Priced Under $400,000" also for the Tuscan Castle model home. In addition, the floor plan was honored with a Gold Nugget Merit Award for new home design at the Pacific Coast Builders’ Conference (PCBC) last year.
"The response that McCaffrey Homes has received for the Tuscan Castle floor plan is reflected in the sales they have experienced since the floor plan first debuted," said Kevin Crook, president of Kevin L. Crook Architects and designer of the Tuscan Castle home. "The exterior architecture makes a statement with its distinctive rotunda-style entry, which is just the starting point for a home that appeals to a broad spectrum of buyers. It is a flexible floor plan that provides an abundance of room options, exceptional standard amenities and an open, airy environment. It is this ultimate opportunity to personalize the home that has made it so popular with a range of buyers, from first-time homebuyers to empty nesters."
With three generations of family home building and land development experience, McCaffrey Homes is the leading local home builder as ranked by Hanley Wood. The company has built thousands of homes in some of the most desirable neighborhoods and locations throughout the Central Valley.
