Made From Scratch
There's Nothing Standard About McCaffrey's Construction Standards
As we put our family's name and reputation on the homes and communities we build, it's important that we build quality into every home from the ground up.

Once your purchase
agreement is finalized,
your home is placed on our
start schedule. It should take about
two to three weeks before you see something happen. During this time we'll be working behind the scenes ordering the permits, engineering & staking out the foundation. In the meantime, get your camera ready! You'll want to have a scrapbook to look back on someday.
|

We start with a solid
foundation, as footings are
set, rough plumbing installed, and steel
rebar is laid. Then we allow the concrete foundation to cure for seven days to maximize its strength, durability, and stability; providing your family with a solid foundation. Don't worry; foundations always look much smaller than one would think. Your home really will fit on that slab of concrete!
|

Next, we layout and
frame the walls. Then
the walls are reinforced,
the trusses are loaded and
the roof is sheeted. What was once a footprint
now becomes a three dimensional space. Now, your home starts to look big!
|

Now we install the
fireplace, heating,
ventilation, and
plumbing. Then the
roofing materials and windows
are placed and the electrical wiring is installed. Any pre-wiring selections you may have for equipment like surround sound or satellite TV will also be installed. At the conclusion of this step, you'll meet with our construction superintendent to "see behind the walls" before we close them up with drywall.
|

Next, we install the
exterior lath, insulation
and drywall as your
home is "buttoned up".
Now, your rooms may appear small to you
as the stark drywall does not provide any "depth". Again, don't worry; think of it as your home's "adolescence" which will soon reveal its true beauty!
|

It's all in the detail, as
we install your base-
boards, door jambs,
doors and window sills and then paint
the walls. On the outside, it starts to take shape with exterior stucco and architectural details.
|

Now you will find the
cabinets, countertops,
door hardware, plumb-
ing and electrical
fixtures are installed.
Outside we're laying the driveway
and completing the roof as it is beginning to look like a home.
|

Next we finish the details
inside and out, as the flooring is
installed, the paint is touched up and the landscape and fence are installed. It is at this point, that the home is inaccessible until your New Home Orientation Tour as during this stage, there are many components that might be disturbed by visitors.
|

We're getting close as
your home is being detailed. Then
we'll finish the clean-up, turn the electricity
on and schedule your New Home Orientation Tour. Get ready, as we're nearly prepared to Welcome You Home!
|

The countdown is over.
The work is done, as
we conduct the New
Home Orientation Tour. At this tour
we perform a room-by-room tour to
demonstrate the operating procedures of the
key components of your home as well as review the warranty service procedure. Normally, this orientation occurs three to five days before close of escrow so we'll have time for any final touch-ups before your Community Representative contacts you to present you with your keys and Welcomes You Home!
